Mislead by great reviews I was expecting something different
I’ll be brief: Besides M’s endless obnoxious banter and scripted shenanigans, the uncomfortable heat inside the MET and more-than-a-handful of weak songs, the quality of Madonna’s vocal performance was so weak that recorded vocals dominated. “Hey Mr. DJ,” were you playing Madonna tracks off your laptop for most of the show?
All in all, it played out like a very modern broadway show with incredible dancers, staging and a DJ filling in for an orchestra or live band. There were some high points: “Batuka” with the all female percussionists was brilliant (and live?), much of the choreography was top-notch while some of M’s clubby numbers like “God Control” had the magical vibe and intensity of NYC’s elaborate underground after hours parties of the 1990s. Still, I kept wondering why I was there and when it would be over.
Also for young ppl
I dont know the greatness of 80s and 90s madonna when she was on the top, however when i knew about her in the 2000s i felt in love with her, ive seen lots of concerts, pop, rock, punk and rap but madonna even tho shes as old as my grandma she really knows how to put on a show. She never dispaoints, you might haye hiw she acts or how her face changed etc but this is about a live concert amd theres no better than madonna. Definitely recomended.
A queen is never late* be prepared cuz shes always late.
